Personal Statement

My decision to train in pediatric oncology at the University of Chicago was based on opportunities to train with internationally recognized Pediatric Oncologists. Here, I have found the best opportunities to develop my professional academic career. Mentorship plays a key role for young physicians with big aspirations and I think that in this program I have found the best mentors.

I am currently enrolled in a two-year clinical research training program (CRTP II), offered by the Department of Health Studies at the University of Chicago, to obtain comprehensive training in clinical and translational research.

I have been accepted for a one-year clinical fellowship in Pediatric Neuro-Oncology at Children’s Hospital Boston starting in July 2012, after I complete my Peds Hem/Onc training. My long term plan is to lead a Pediatric Neuro-Oncology clinic with a strong phase I/II program and a multidisciplinary approach for the care of children with brain tumors.

Living in Chicago

After living in Barcelona for 6 years, I could say that my standards for the city where I live are very high and Chicago has met all my requirements! I live in the South Loop. Very close to downtown and takes me 20-25 minutes to get to work, with no traffic!

My hobbies:

  • Biking
  • Working out
  • Running
  • Trying new restaurants
  • Traveling
  • Watching movies
