Tara Henderson, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor, Department of Pediatrics
, Medical Director of the Childhood Cancer Survivor Center, The University
of Chicago. Dr. Henderson is a pediatric oncologist whose primary research
and clinical focus is the outcomes of childhood cancer survivors.
Dr. Henderson completed her pediatrics residency at Johns Hopkins and
her pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer
Institute/Children’s Hospital Boston combined program.
In 2005, she received her MPH at the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Henderson’s principal research interests are the development of second malignant neoplasms in childhood cancer survivors, developing surveillance strategies in high risk survivors and identifying facilitators and barriers to
survivors receiving such surveillance. Dr. Henderson has a National Cancer
Institute K07 Career Development award and is recognized nationally as a
leader in the area of cancer survivorship as she holds steering committee
positions in the Children’s Oncology Group (Late Effects/Outcomes and
Hodgkin lymphoma) and the Childhood Cancer Survivor Study.
